The Carthaginian staff is currently accepting student artwork, poetry and other creations for publication in our February issue. If you have anything you would like to have published, please see a staff member or Mrs. Quick in A6.
Seniors need to bring their brag sheets to Mrs. Quick to be included in the yearbook. ALL FORMS ARE DUE BY FEB 15.

The Panola County chapter of the University of Texas Ex-Student's Association (Texas Exes) will be awarding at least two $500 scholarships (or one $1000 scholarship) this year to a CHS student or students who will be attending the University of Texas at Austin in the fall. Bulldogs for Christ meets EVERY FRIDAY morning @ 7:30 in Rm. C-10. This group is open to anyone (students and teachers) who would like to join in a time of prayer and Bible study. Feel free to slip in and out as necessary, as schedules continue to be tight. If you have prayer concerns that you would like for us to pray about, please email Mrs. Webster awebster@carthageisd.org and these will be added to the list.
Seniors, for scholarship information check the scholarship file or see Mrs. Tilley in the Counselors' Office. Scholarships are also posted on the CHS website -- click on the Counselors' Office tab at the left of the CHS Homepage.
Transcripts are needed when seniors apply to a college. Many students are applying online and forgetting to come to the counselors' office to ask Mrs. Ingram to send a transcript to the school. Colleges do not contact the high school for a transcript. STUDENTS MUST REQUEST THAT A TRANSCRIPT BE SENT TO ANY SCHOOLS IN WHICH APPLICATION IS MADE.
IMPORTANT CREDIT RECOVERY ANNOUNCEMENT:
Any student who is trying to get 1st semester credit for a class that he/she failed last year so that the class won't be on his/her schedule for next semester should be attending credit recovery at PACE academy. If the student has already filled out paperwork with one of the counselors, he/she may begin attending at any time. If no paperwork has been completed, the student should come to the counselors' office and get it. Credit recovery is from 3:30 until 5:30 MONDAY through THURSDAY. Students MUST provide their own transportation to and from credit recovery.
